Western Baptist offers Living with Diabetes class

Diabetes affects one out of every four Americans. Your quality of life depends greatly on how you manage the disease.  By managing diabetes on a daily basis, you will lower your risk of long-term complications. That why Western Baptist offers the free monthly class Life With Diabetes.

Certified diabetes educator Kathy West, R.N., a registered dietitian and a pharmacist will cover these topics in two three-hour sessions:

  • Goal setting
  • Meal planning
  • Exercise
  • Medication management
  • Stress management
  • Blood glucose monitoring

Upcoming classes are July 16 and 18, Aug. 13 and 15 and Sept. 10 and 12. All classes are from 1 to 4 p.m. and are located in the atrium classroom, on the second floor of Doctors Office Building 2, except for September when classes will be in Meeting Room B on the first floor.

A physician’s order is required to attend. Under the direction of your physician, you will be able to use your self-management skills more effectively, leading to a better quality of life.
